Medical Massage Alliance

The Medical Massage Alliance is a group of Seattle-based massage practitioners who focus on medical massage.

We work with each other to keep ourselves at the leading edge of medical massage by meeting regularly, by offering each other peer supervision, by organizing continuing education courses, and by exchanging administrative and marketing ideas. We also operate an online medical massage discussion group that is open to medical massage practioners and others involved in the field, both in the Seattle area and around the US. Model Medical Massage Curriculum

One of our first projects is to survey current medical massage certification programs and put together a model curriculum. Our ideal medical massage curriculum is in the early stages of development, but it will certainly included clinical massage techniques, ethics, massage research, medical communication and documentation, marketing, insurance billing, and legal issues. One of the founders of the MMA has created an early draft of a medical massage curriculum.
